As the title says, Does overclocking make that much difference?  I currently have AMD Athlon X2 245 and I know this CPU is quiet old. I really dont want to spend my money on intel i5 or i7 series as I don't require heavy duty work or game. So people who tried overclocking can you guys tell me your own experience with overclocking? Thanks u guys :)

depends how much you overclock

100MHz wont make a difference but 1GHz would :P

and no you cannot get anywhere close to an i5 performance by overclocking that CPU

I think overclocking will make a pretty good impact on that CPU.
