How to know which USB drives are NOT detected as HDD?

Cy-Fy

Hey guys I recently bought a Sandisk Cruzer 8gb USB drives and it turns out that because it "Windows 8 Compatible" or something, it is detected as a fixed drive and therefore can't be used to make bootable USB drives.

So basically my question is, now that I am going to buy another USB drive, how do I know if this problem is going to occur again?

Thanks for the help guys!!!

Its all about drivers for the thing %99 of the drives are detected as generic removable storage device. (also you should able to make that thing a regular USB flash drive with modded drivers because i remember doing it the other way around ,making my flash drive shown as a harddrive)

Thank you very much, I'll try to use RMPrepUSB which apparently seems to work to create USB bootables even from "fixed disks"!
