FIIO E10K or Xonar DX?

timmy3010

Im really new to the audio world so i really need help deciding which one i should buy. I dont really care about portability.

So i just bought Swans M50w 2.1 speakers and i want to get the best out of my speaker, so i decided to buy a soundcard or usb DAC. I use mainly use it to play games and listening to music and sometimes watching a movie. I also have Audio Technica m50x.

I know there are 2 3.5 connector on the e10k can i plug my speaker and headphone at the same time?

Which one will give me the best sound improvement for my speakers?

Will there be a big difference between the onboard souncard(alc887) and the e10 or DX?

I would buy the E10K or the AudioEngine D1. Don't expect to be mindblown buy the improvement, but i think it's worth it.

I have the Xonar DGX (Xonar DX with a PLX chip to convert PCIe to PCI)

the sound quality is nothing special. I don't notice the sound card, which is actually not a bad thing.

it just blends into my everyday life. it doesn't sound fantastic, but it's a budget sound card and it does headphone output very well for me without straining.

foreal tho. . . the E10k is a great DAC/Amp in the budget world

Should sound pretty much the same with the monitor, but the E10k might sounds a bit better for headphones, due to it having less output impedance, less EMI and static, and probably better SNR rating.

No, but you can with a syba dac. Not that adding a source helps a pair of active speakers.

What will happen if i plug them both, is it going to damage something?

Nothing extra ordinary would happen. Unless your onboard is broken in some way they will sound identical.

There is a line out at the back, so yes! :)

I don't know if you can control the volume for the line out though... Not sure about that.
