Corrupted video, audio extraction

Go to solution Solved by minibois,

This might be a ghetto solution, but you can play the audio with VLC and record it (only sound, no video) so you have it..

The video file with the audio with it works in VLC? Maybe try it out in Windows Movie player, because I know you can rip audio from a video in that.

So i just used dxtory to record ~20mins of gameplay footage (for personal use). Sadly the codec was corrupted due to me closing dxtory prematurely and i could only rebuild it in VLC. I then proceeded to record that so i have the video portion.

However, when i use my audio extraction program MusicExtractor the 3 files (it was recorded on 3 tracks) are all corrupted .wav files. I tried to covert them but that doesn't help. I can listen to the audio if i open the original file in VLC.

Is there a way to extract the audio with VLC or another program?

Yeah, i thought of that but then i will have to record it for 1 hour straight (3 tracks, can't play them all simultaneously).

I guess that is the only way then.

EDIT/UPDATE: I managed to convert the video file as an audio file and selected my corrupted .wav file as reference, lets hope it work (also has to be done track by track).

But what are you left with now? Audio? Or audio+video?

Maybe you try something in Audacity

Well i have only video (ghetto solution) and now i am in the process of converting audio with VLC, didn't work the first try, but i'll try again (without a reference file).

If you used the standard codec for dxtory you should be able to just right-click on the file to get the audio tracks as seperate files

I did that, but i used the LLC not the standard one.

I fixed it by :
