Need help with wrong RAM frequency !

Alright so i enabled xmp and chose a frequenty of 1866 and now it boots fine !

So is have 2x corsair 4gb 2133 ram and my system is detecting it as 1333. (DDR3)

I have tried setting it right in the bios but then my system wont start, it will try to boot for 3/4 times and then resets itself and displays an error.

 

RAM: corsair vengance 2x4 gb 2133 mhz

Mobo: Z77 extreme 4

CPU: i5-3550 oc to 4ghz

GPU: evga GTX 970 ssc

PSU: Antec HCG 620

Storage: Samsung evo ssd 120GB - 2x 1TB hdd

Are you also using the same timings and voltage and not just the clock speed?

Try going into the Advanced part of the BIOS and set the ram to 1866 and see if it'll boot. I had a 2666 set that wouldn't work above 2400

Of the CPU??, for that i used the non K overclock from asrock

it is on auto and detects at 1333. i did not enable xmp.. should i do that?

Yes, enabling xmp automatically loads the advertised settings.

ill see what i can find, are the profiles built in? and so wich one should i use?

They will show up in the uefi bios if the ram supports it. The settings are clearly labeled.

Yes - XMP is what you should use, as it has the recommended timings and speed.

Enable XMP in BIOS. You'll be just fine.
