Duplicate display causes tearing

So i've just noticed I started getting tearing in most games when I didn't before (using vsync, d3doverrider triple buff) , but I setup my monitor and tv to duplicate as I like to play with controller on my tv and couch, does anyone know why and if there is a fix for that? Also lets say if  extend my display, can I setup my games to launch on extended monitor (tv in this case) and monitor will be just desktop ?

You could use an extended display yes, You would have to open the resolution panel from the desktop and switch it to the primary display. Unfortunately that will cause most or all things to launch on the tv so if you want to go back to the desk you will have to set it back to primary, Its not a hard thing to do just a minor annoyance

If the tearing has come after you got duplicate setup, then its definetly because your gpu now needs to render to two displays at the same time. Window and display managers like DisplayFusion let you set default launch display per software. Or create different profiles with shortcut changes.
