Gtx 970 sli or 980?

Pooherino ツ

So i have one 970 and this guy wanna swap mine for his 980 with $200. Im planning to get another 970 in the future but im wondering if i should get the 980 now and run single gpu. I just wanna know if it is worth it? Also im gaming at 4k, so im wondering which options worth be better in term of price to performance

SLI 970 destroys a single 980 and the 970 is TONS better bang for the buck. The 980 is about 67% more expensive (Here anyway) for about 15-25% more performance.

Keep the 970 and SLI is what I would say unless you don't mind going for that SLI 980

Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

So it would be better to save my 200 now and get a 970 for $400 later? Also theres no way im going for 980 sli

Sli 970 is more powerful than a single 980 by a lot. Going from a 970 to a 980 wouldn't be a huge jump, especially for the price. Unless you want to do sli 980s, I'd just stay with 970s.

Thrive on change. Embrace volatility.

970 SLI will kick off single 980's performance.

If you've money to buy 2 980s they are best.
