With a wired connection, I get 60Mbps download. On my current router (click here), I only get 8-9Mbps.

So....give me suggestions on Amazon please, and preferably something that has good value! (Because I have no clue which one to choose.)

Linksys WRT-1900AC. If you are looking to get something cheaper, you could wait for the 1200AC. There are also a few other Linsys and NETGEAR routers that are pretty good. I'll have to browse some more, but the WRT family is awesome.

Netgear R7000 hands down.

Don't get the WRT-1900AC. It's only an outstanding router if you really want to tinker with aftermarket firmware and more advanced router capabilities. It's also expensive af

I heard somewhere that linus uses or used this for streaming.

I plan to have my parents upgrade our router to this one instead of our shitty linksys e3200 or something like that. (From all the stress put on it from the 20+ devices connected to it almost constantly using the internet it tends to restart itself every now and then, which is a huge pain in the ass when gaming online...)

Will that get me 60 Mbps? Can you help me find something where I can pay the least money but still get the full connection?

Also, how do I benefit from AC wireless? I don't understand the concept....I don't have 1.3Gbps internet.

Really appreciate your help by the way. :)

What are you using the WiFi for? Is the slow speeds you're complaining about just for your PC? If that's the case, get two powerline adapters. Better speeds and lower latency/ping, a great thing for online gaming.

There isn't really a benefit with AC in terms of internet speeds, just the speed of the link between devices on the network. If you don't do a lot of local file transfers over the network or anything you can grab an N router if you can find a decent one for cheap.

No, my PC is fine.

However, on my laptop and iPhone, I only get 8Mbps when I'm getting 60Mbps on my computer. I want a router that can provide for 60Mbps over wireless on my phone and laptop.

Yes those devices do support 5GHz ("dual-band") networks.

There are cheaper routers, although this is one that's proven to be damn solid. I'm just used to buying good routers now lol, horrible memories of the days when I would buy $30 ones that would overheat and just cut out after an hour or so of gaming.

This one is a bit cheaper and also really well, just a bit less reception then the N66U. Shouldn't be a problem unless you have a giant house.  http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Dual-Band-Wireless-N-Router-RT-N56U/dp/B0049YQVHE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1420607340&sr=1-1&keywords=rt-n56u#customerReviews

Hey whoops it seemed to have gotten lost in my notifications, sorry about that.

I've used a TP-Link router in the past and it was pretty crap, but again it was a cheap one and it seems that the quality on TP-Link routers has gone up on their entire range of products since mine existed. The Archer C7 seems to be a really good router based on reviews, so if you like the look of it then definitely go ahead.

Or you could get something like this in-store (basically a wireless N version of the router you linked) and returns would be a lot easier if you aren't happy with it. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/tp-link-wireless-router-ieee-802-11n/6313649.p?id=1218726418749&skuId=6313649

if you're looking at a more hands on option you could do like I have and build your own from a standard PC using pfsense,

then run wireless of dedicated access points such as the cisco wap4110n's

My system hasn't been rebooted for over 1 year, I get 40mb/s and it has never let me down

Saying all of that though it's not the easiest if you're not technically minded

Break it. Put it back together. Then hope like hell it works. Failing that Use Gaffer Tape.... lots of it. If that doesn't work then either there isn't a problem or you haven't used enough gaffer tape,
