I can't find recent any objective data on this. The challenger is only 50.9 inchs tall stock (link). While the corvette is 48.6 inches (link). I know height has nothing really to do with it, but if you chop the total height of the challenger by 3 or 4 inches, I would assume it would make it closer. Then a null point with slicks on the challenger.

Don't forget the car has more weight higher up. You can have two vehicles with the same body but the one with a weight on top has a higher center of gravity.

The common thing I'm seeing on forums (before the drag mods) is that the challenger will weigh around 3600-3700 pounds after the interior and sound dampening has been gutted. Lighter weight components and panels around the car could maybe chop off another 100 pounds.

But removing things is free, you can perform those same tasks on the Corvette and be better off.

You asked the question, I posted my opinion. You're obviously a hellcat fanboy. And the hellcat isn't a race car, its a mid life crisis just like the vette

I'm not a hellcat fanboy, ive more people would have said the hell cat would win, with little reason as to why, I would question them equally as much. But so far allot more people think the corvette is going to win. So I'm playing devil's advocate.

My favourite 3 cars are the Toyota gt86 with a 2jz swap, Mightycarmods "Gramps", and the 1989 Countach (the sound of that v12 gives me chills).

I think your undermining the importance of the challenger. Until recently, if you have looked at the car industry as a whole, no body had plans on making an affordable exciting car (except for the gt86 with its prius wheels). I've been looking for a new car recently and there all bloody boring, they all have a billion air bags and try to promise you that its not going to let you hit anything. It takes guts for a company that straight up says "f**k your safety, here's a two wheel drive 700 horsepower car" for the price of a boring fully loaded accord crosstour. It looks like the hellcat has been a success, I hope the Mx-5 is a even bigger success so that the industry can get back to making exciting cars.

Yeah, but then the corvette would just slaughter it, I would prefer the scenario in which the challenger has been out for a while and you have been modding it, and your mate just got a corvette. Then you both head to the track and find out which one is the fastest.

Yeah the corvette has a longer hood which lets chevy put the engine behind the wheels; better weight distro. It also lets them sit the engine lower cause there is no sway bar or suspension structure in the way. The corvette is definitely thought out better.

I don't think you want a muscle car for the track what about something like a gtr?

some people have made the challenger successful at navigating corners, the only person that comes to mind, is Samuel Hubinette with his eight hundred  something horsepower drift challenger.

Given only these two choices, I'd take the Corvette because when people see a Corvette they see a Corvette. When they see a Hellcat all they see is a Challenger.

Given the choice I wouldn't buy either, honestly. :P

I'd go with the corvette. Much lighter and better handling than the hellcat. If you want a good fast "muscle" car, Buy a mustang gt500

some reason i thought of a bowler wildcat when you said hellcat.

if you want to do circuit racing I wouldn't get niether as your going to spend heaps on it.

you would be better off get a evo 8 or something along that line. you wont need to gut it etc to be quick and it wont be as much of a cop magnet.

Its all about those volumetric clouds

Well TBH i see the owner corvette as a male who is in retirement and has out lived his spouse. Cause few females wouldn't want to be seen in something so confused looking. Then the challenger, like 90% of the dodge fleet is someone who is struggling with their sexuality and need to express in loud spastic ways.

I even feel that even the Dodge omni (particularly the 1978ish version with the wood paneling) was oozing with testosterone.

I mean just look at that man, hes going to paddle that canoe up the side of a mountain cause thats what men of the outdoors do. But first, one must drive to a mountain, that car, one might say, is also struggling with its sexuality.
