Hey, I am helping a friend build a budget gaming PC to replace the old tower of dust that he still has sitting under his desk. I can make an educated guess of the comments that ere b=needed, I just built my first gaming PC a while back. I need some suggestions or input on these hypothetical builds. The first build uses an AMD cpu, and the second build uses an Intel cpu. Before any body says anything like "Get a better graphics card" or "Why didn't you pick a case" or "what about the OS" just know that the budget that I have to work with is $550 CAN at the maximum. Here are just a few thing to know about the situation: he already has a case that we can use, he already has peripherals, I have already dealt with the OS. Any kind of response is a good one, I just need some feedback. Thanks :)

That board needs a bios update before it can use HW refresh/ DC CPUs so that won't work.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

Sigh... You don't know enough to be posting in this thread then. G3258 is Haswell Refresh. You need a bios update on 1st gen B85 boards for it to work.

Since the OP does not posses a Haswell chip to do the bios update with, he'll be up schitt's creek with that board.
