I have the dominator plats and let me tell you, good ram but just had to call in warranty as 1 module died on me.. spent an entire weekend testing everything from HDDs, SSDs, my CPU as my system kept freezing! and tested very module and found every dimm slot works except 1 ram module "causes a 67 on my x79 extreme9 mobo or 60 if it's just that 1 module".

Not too mad, 56GB is still a lot of ram but might run only 32 gb until I get a replacement module from corsair.

I'm going with Vengeance pro or Ripjaw4s when I spend a fortune on 64gb of ddr4.

I'm also going to move my X79 rig to the asus ws-e mobo as I'm gonna use my current rig for game-capture and streaming. will probably throw a 780ti in there as it's cheap now.

I'm Batman!

Unless you care about the "coolness factor" memory speed doesn't really matter in day-to-day tasks. Chose whatever fits your budget and you like more. Any 1600MHz or 1866MHz kit will be good enough, you won't see any performance benefit from going higher than that.
