How many monitors in dual 980 rig

Up to 4 monitors at a time. 

Makes no difference if in sli or not.

A displayport hub could get you more though.

If both cards are there are not running in sli then I think you can get 8 at a time.

There are 3 DisplayPort's on the reference 980, but how many monitors can I have if I have two 980's in SLI?

Roses are red, violets are blue, computers are awesome, and so are you!

So do I just plug in to one GPU and the other I can't?
