AGDQ Speed Runner Event for Cancer Research - Twitch

EChondo

Hey guys, I've never heard of this before until just the other day and since I haven't seen any posts about it here on the forums I thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

Games Done Quick is live currently, which is an event of speed runners playing video games as fast as possible while explaining their speedrunning to raise money for cancer research.

Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick

Schedule: https://gamesdonequick.com/schedule

Schedule Backup: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eB4mJA3DV5D_gYAEp2lLMXQqqTZLlQRJDsTQOOoVvR8/pubhtml

This is a 5-6 day event, today is the first day and it has already started hours ago so a few games have already passed. If you want to watch any prior games then go to this Reddit thread where someone has generously been posting timestamps and links to Twitch VODs: http://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/2ra5rw/agdq_vods_thread_2015/

They are currently at $87,000+ donated, TotalBiscuit has donated $666 and supposedly Notch has donated $10,000.

So if you're a fan of video games and would like to see some games be broken and manipulated then tune in!

Each YouTube video will be in 6 hour long segments, directly recorded live from the stream to avoid audio muting due to copyright issues on VOD's(which I think can be circumvented if you download the VOD as the audio is still loaded and the player is forced on mute).

Also expect some technical issues here and there. GDQ has been having some issues with lag and audio pitches being too high, so keep your volume at a decent middle ground to avoid blowing out your speakers and/or your eardrums if it does happen again.

If this has a thread elsewhere then by all means report it, I haven't seen anything myself though, so forgive me.

Notch normally donates a pile to the games done quick events, he's great like that.
