Just wondering how this works? Is this determined by the boost clock on all Nvidia GPUs? Is it determined by temperature headroom? I'm water cooling my GPU soon so if that is the case my GPU should be running at boost clock speeds more than likely?

boost speeds are enabled when your gpu is being used heavily

if your watercooling you can overclock which increases how powerful the card is

Well I found this which had me debating whether my old gpus were using boost clock speeds if there was enough temperature headroom or not.

tempreture does play a role as long as your under 80c max boost is used

It is determined by the power limit, temperature target, GPU usage, and core voltage.

The maximum clock speed your GPU can achieve is the "boost clock". This is determined by temperature headroom. As long as your GPU says below the set temperature limit (keep in mind you can manually change this temperature limit in overclocking programs like MSI Afterburner) then it will run at the boost clock. If it starts hitting that temperature limit, it will start going back to the regular core clock.
