No Man's Sky.

Okay hello! I would like to talk about the game in progress "No Man's Sky" I recently found out more about it.

 

I had found the game a while back (3-4 months ago) And i found it very "Beautiful" I mean look at it!

I find it Very interesting how it is multiplayer but the game studio that is currently making it says you will have almost a 100% chance of not finding the friend you are looking to play with. Reason? You may ask the reason is that the "Galaxy" you are placed in has an almost infinite randomly generating Galaxy!

 

The game is mainly supposed to be a exploration game but if you wish you can kill other players (If you can find players).

 

And the one Feature of the game that i look forward to is that you can fly in space and fly to planets. (No loading)

 

It is supposedly to be coming out for Pc,Ps4 and maybe xbox one.

 

But enough of me talking what do you think about this game?

So far they have only released gameplay footage of "No Man's Sky" for Ps4.

Its been talked about on here before. It was at one time in the tech news and reviews section about new games to be expected for 2015.

 

Personally, I think the game looks interesting. I will most likely buy it on PC if possible, if it ends up being an exclusive, I luckily have an PS4, so I'll play it on that platform instead. 

I like the overall look and feel of the game, its not too 'artsy' while also having impressive and interesting gameplay mechanics. I like flight sims and exploration games, while No Mans sky isn't a flight sim, I like that It will be possible to relax and explore.

 

Overall, it looks like a good game. Its no Star Citizen, but its also more relaxed and convenient, something, which I am currently have an affinity towards in video games.

Everything including their "gameplay" trailer has been prerendered, scripted crap. Until I see actual gameplay, this game is just a fancy cgi project.

What has my attention is how they plan to map the game using procedural design (I.e. mathematically designed maps and npcs). Would be a giant leap forward for gaming (imagine a game like skyrim without downloading the map at all)

No man's sky is a beautiful game, but the design is what's really important to me. I want to see if they can pull it off.

I remember being interested, but since then I've looked at footage and I struggle to name even three gameplay mechanics. Except just walking/driving.

 

I don't get why people are trying to hype it so hard. It just looks like Spore (and Spore wasn't a good game at all). I mean, of course I shall reserve judgement, but I'm not yet convinced.

There is little to no information out regarding this game, those screenshots might not even be in-game for all we know (just remember Killzone 2 or Alien: Colonial Marines). From what I remember there isn't even a clear concept right now, the developers just said that there "will be exploration" and that players "will be compelled to follow a specific goal"...... Yeah, no thanks. All they seem to have right now is a colourful techdemo that is "supposedly" rendered in-engine, with atrocious pop-in and no actual game behind it.

It's a timed exclusive like dead rising 3 was. So ps4 for probably half a year.

There has been barely any information on this. In fact, there hasn't been much showing how this is a "game". Most of it is just video footage with a HUD tacked on. I think they set up a beautiful looking world, but unless there is something really fun to do with-in the world (other than just flying around) I can't see myself playing this game for too long.

This video kind of explains the 'pop-in.' I personally don't think it is that bad for considering what is actually happening and how early in development it is. (Skip to ~12 minutes or so; though I recommend watching the whole thing..pretty interesting hearing him talk about it at least)

 

 

It does seem like it's at 'proof of concept' stage for the procedural generation aspect. Visually and art direction, it looks beautiful so far, I just don't really get what you'll be doing in the game. Part of me thinks that they aren't releasing details just because, or they really have no idea how the gameplay is really going to work. But they need to create the world(s) first I suppose.

But enough of me talking what do you think about this game?

 

Looks nice, but Hello Games haven't shown much more than some scripted trailers and they've avoided explaining much about what the gameplay actually entails. So far, the hype and expectations are outrunning what the game is realistically likely to deliver. It could be amazing and I'll be paying peripheral attention to it, but I'm gonna need actual post-release reviews to get excited.

 

FYI, last I heard it was a Playstation 4 timed exclusive. I think it's official that it will be coming to PC eventually, but we don't know when, and naturally the port quality will be of grave concern. I haven't heard anything about an Xbone release, though admittedly I pay only as much attention to consoles as I must.
