Nexus 7 (2012) won't boot

My nexus 7 won't boot. When I just use the power button, it just stays at the "Google" screen and won't do anything. In recovery mode, it says "Booting failed". Do you have any suggestions? I couldn't find anything that helped.

Try holding down both volume buttons, then press the power button.

That just goes into the recovery mode screen, nothing different than just holding the bottom volume key.
