The R9-290 will bend a GTX 760 over backwards in anything.

Why not i5-4440. Save $15. Only 100mhz slower. You won't notice the difference.

 

Overpriced RAM. Go with Team Zeus Yellow 2x4gb. Save $21. RAM is RAM. They all work. It's the same 1600 mhz anyways.

 

Use the saved cost and up your GPU to a 290. $45 more but it'll handily beat the 760.

Like you said, ram is ram. Id be willing to spend the extra money for it to fit more into the color scheme.
