Hey guys, this is actually my first post on here.
My name is Zareth and I'm in Tennessee, USA.

As for my PC, I'm running an i5-750 overclocked to 4.2GHZ on 1.28V. That is my max 4 core turbo frequency.
GTX 660 TI, Mushkin SSD, custom loop, lots of other goodies.

I don't really feel bottlenecked in any way but the other day one of the bios chips on my mobo fried. That kind of got me wondering if I should expect other things to start failing.

I've been running this OC since 2009 so I feel like I have gotten my moneys worth out of it to say the least.

So what do you guys think?

Wait til it fries, upgrade just in case?

You should upgrade if you are not content with what results you are getting.

My friend upgraded his 660 Ti a tiny bit ago, because he wanted more fps in games.

It could take a really long time for the card to fry, heck my gt240 still works fine.

If you feel like the way games are running for you now is fine why not just stick with what you have?

However, if you do want to push out better performance you can pick up a new card.

I guess I should have been more clear, I'm pretty satisfied with my GPU but my CPU is from 2009 and has been overclocked the entire 6 years I've owned it, from 2.6 Ghz stock to 4.2 Ghz.

Are new CPU's that much better?

My gpu is okay and I'd like a 970 but I'm not ready for that yet ;]

Welcome to the LTT forums! :)

It seems impossible until it's done.

If I had a chip blow and had the money to upgrade then I would definitely look into upgrading at least the Mobo and CPU. If your card is working fine for you than that should be fine too but you might look into a better power supply if what you have is cheap or on the weak side.

Well Gigabyte does the whole dual Bios thing and one of those screwed up.. Something that I never expected to happen which got me wondering if more stuff could be on its way out.

I actually love my Lazer Platinum 550 power supply! It's technically a 650w gold PSU but when at 550W and lower it meets Platinum spec.. plus the fan NEVER turns on under the usage I give it.

New stuff isn't that much better. Upgrade if something fails or new amazing components come out.

That is kind of what I figured.. It's been six years, I figured I'd be upgrading after 2 but I guess I should be happy.

Maybe Broadwell then lol.
