Do you know how to do it? ;)

It's quite simple actually, turn off the computer while it's starting up then turn it on again, when you get the safemode selection screen keep hitting ctrl+alt+del or restarting until you get the option to go to system recovery. Once in system recovery, wait for a bit, when it asks you if you want to repair anything click 'no'. Wait for a while then it will say it can't fix the problem, click more details and there should be a little hyperlink to a logfile somewhere. Click it, and a notepad window should come up, go to file>open and from there you can go into C:\>windows>system 32 and copy CMD.exe, find a program called sethc.exe and delete it then paste CMD.exe and rename it to sethc.exe, then restart and once on the logon screen press shift 5 times and you have both command prompt and super-user privelages, note that there are some severe bugs with using stuff from the system user so you'll want to open notepad and use it for exploring the file system etc.

Disclaimer: Don't use this to do anything illegal

I have to return some video tapes...

Does anyone remember i2hub? It didn't really exploit school computers, but it used university networks (and their insane speeds for 2004/5 standards) for p2p file sharing. The only way you could get on the i2hub network was if you were connected on a university network. It ended up being shut down by the end of freshman year and several students at our school had lawsuits filed against them.

You could also just browse pretty much anyone's files in your dorm (my freshman dorm was 21 stories with at least 18 rooms a floor; two people per room) because Windows computers would default to 'WORKGROUP' or whatever it was called. Then, since everyone was on the same network, iTunes shared libraries would be a LOT of people and there were programs that would let you download other peoples' libraries using that.

We also used to have to go to a computer lab and login there to print stuff, but then there was a work around that you could send print jobs to any lab from any computer. Made life a lot easier.

Don't need to. Am a teacher with access to all the network drives and full privileges.

snip

Don't get too complacent; when I was in High school I became Admin of the network (over our IT too.)

Downgraded all other accounts hehe

So my school gives us Macbook airs and has a billion filters and stuff but it would be so easy to remove by going into the unix mode but they sometimes do surprise inspections. Our school IT department I would say is pretty good and they know what they are doing.

root and then its 3 lines to reset the mac to factory install booting as admin account.

My friend found a way to get onto it, I think he used a shortcut of some sort. Couldnt do anything though.

By shortcut do you mean pressing shift 5 times?

if you can download and install things then no point for most people to unlock the comp at all.

What they did was install it on a usb drive and then put in on the school computer and name tor something else so when the district tried to remotely delete tor everyones computer crashed because it deleted finder i believe
