Is This Good for my CPU and GPU? Please Help!

post-109086-0-85941400-1419988113.gif

My cpu is a AMD FX-6300 clocked at 4.7 ghz and voltage is 1.5v.

Is this good for my cpu or does is need to be clocked down a little more.

the bad thing is my pc turns of suddenly without any notice.

can someone help.

I don't really know, but if it's randomly shutting down then there's probably something wrong. Are you sure your not nudging you PSU out or something in your mobo is loose ( I have found this to happen before) if not then there is something probably wrong with something.

it turns off when i play games not at idle

This is probably an insensitivity issue so maybe something wrong with the CPU (clocked to high?)

This is what I would guess but I don't know to much about overclocking

Sounds like you're using up more power than the PSU can supply. What PSU do you have?

I subtract my previous statement, although I'd stay away from raidmax PSUs, they're not great. Does this happen at stock speeds?

no

Then lower your core speeds, or up your voltage if you have the thermal headroom to do so. Do it in increments with tests in between. Do this until the problem stops.

4.7Ghz at 1.5 is fine. Although not that great when comparing since most get to 5ghz at 1.5V

Your computer turning off is not good tho.

What motherboard and CPU cooler do you have?

Chances are your VRMs are throttling like crazy.

Even an FX6 clocked to the highest possible amount is going to bottleneck that GPU.

Is it worth changing platforms?  No.  Unless you play MMOs, or want to get the most out of your $550 GPU, then you should switch to Intel.

Lol, forgot that the large majority of people with fx CPUs have inferior motherboards for them, stupid me.

Try removing the overclock on your CPU and see if it still happens.

The mobo and cooler should have no issue with the voltage etc.

When does the computer crash? Is it while playing or under heavy GPU load?

Here are possible causes:

1. not enough power

2. the northbridge is overheating (I'm going from expierence on this one, shouldn't be a problem on high end mobos)

3. cpu VRM is overheating (again, shouldn't be a problem on high end mobos, but it is possible).

Try removing the overclock on your CPU and see if it still happens.

^This as suggested should get your computer running stable for now if its any of the above 3 issues.

As was stated, remove the CPU overclock and they should run a lot cooler.
