Not for gaming no.  If you plan on streaming all the time, rendering videos etc, then an i7 could come in handy.

Im hoping to get the new amd 390x or gtx 980ti whichever comes out first and was wondering with stuff like direct x12 and amd mantle using more cpu should i get an i7?
