Vegas 12 Pro not using my GPU as it should. Or at all.

flibberdipper

So, after getting fed up with Movie Maker, I got Vegas 12 Pro through the powers of the internet (hint hint nudge nudge). I have it set in the preferences to try and use my 7950, and then in the render settings, I have it set to use a GPU if one is available. I did all of this right, since I had watched a video on how to do this. Problem is, it's pinning my G3258 to the wall, and using about 10% on my 480 (which it isn't supposed to use), and my 7950 is sitting there idling. What the hell is going on? I don't want to wait an hour and a half almost for a 20 minute long video.

I guess that can happen if you don't buy Vegas the legal way.

I'm going to go full prick here (I'm fed up with people being smartasses) and say this: The .exe is legit. The registration info is not. So please, shove your witty comment up your ass and leave.

It's more fun to let people know when they fall off a cliff, you were the one that pushed them and laughed. :(

Or, in simpler terms, that you don't care about them. At all.

I was serious. I've seen many times that bad rip offs just don't work at some point. And that was my guess here. I can not know, that you downloaded the original version, if you don't tell me that.

There ore some other threads out there mentioning issues with vegas 12 and amd opencl on 7000 series and newer cards. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1768813/opencl-sony-vegas-pro-radeon-7970.html and  http://www.hyperactivemusic.com/vegaspro/vegaspro.html

I would just assign it to use the cuda code path on the 480 for now.

System CPU : Ryzen 9 5950 doing whatever PBO lets it. Motherboard : Asus B550 Wifi II RAM 80GB 3600 CL 18 2x 32GB 2x 8GB GPUs Vega 56 & Tesla M40 Corsair 4000D Storage: many and varied small (512GB-1TB) SSD + 5TB WD Green PSU 1000W EVGA GOLD

You can trust me, I'm from the Internet.
