Help with the Comparison of 2 ~$600 Builds

TheDoctorHax

Hello. recently I have been planning to build a gaming computer. I have only recently come up with 2 builds each at around $600. I would like to know what you guys think would be better in terms of performance(I really don't care about the Intel vs AMD argument). This build needs to be able to do moderate gaming such as Battlefield 4, lighter games such as Garry's Mod and Team Fortress 2, and MAYBE recording gameplay, although that is not even close to a priority. Also, if you have any suggestions on how I could alter these builds to get more performance or lower the cost it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you wanna go intel I would suggest an i5 (note that mobo is a matx board in a mid tower) but if this is fixed i would go with amd

Don't run a 125 watt cpu on a mobo with no vrm heatsink. Intel one is better

Its a 6300 not a 6350. In other words a 95 watt cpu, not a 125 watt.

Whoops, still a board with no heatsink is gonna throttle.

Intel still better

Of the two, the Intel one gets my vote.

Neither are ideal. The R9 270x is just a factory overclocked R9 270, so it's better to just get the R9 270 and OC it. It's cheaper and results in the same performance. Also, the i3 has sucky multi-threaded performance and the FX has sucky single-threaded performance. You want a CPU that's good at both, and the Intel i5 is the cheapest one to do that. WIth an i5-4440 and an h81 chipset board, you can fit it into the build for better performance all around. Overall the following build has a way better CPU for gaming, and a GPU that's just as good as yours once you overclock it, which is easy as pie for a GPU. Plus, it's cheaper than both builds. All upside, no downside.

Alternatively, if you're willing to go with a cheaper case (which doesn't do anything for performance), you can end up with an even better system for still even cheaper. If it were me, I'd do the following:

Ok so what I heard from that is that the mobo on the AMD build has no VRM heatsink, which I thought it did, also I heard that I should just get the 270 and OC it, but I don't think the 270 has Mantle support(correct me if I'm wrong) Also I am aware that the mobo on the Intel build is a mATX board I do not think that it will hinder performance and I dont need more than one PCI slot for my GPU. Also I am on a very strict budget so the i5 build is pretty much a no go.

Never mind on me saying the i5 build was a no go. I only looked at the processor price but wow. I'm still going to look around and wait for a bit.
