1. Stand by the laptop or turn it off
2. Blow air with mouth reverse of normal cooler air flow - this kicks dust out of wents. So blow in the exhaust vent.
3. Take a needle and a vacuum cleaner. Put the needle in the cooler so the fan doesnt spin, and vacuum the intake port. This way you pull the blown-out dust out of the heatsink.

4. Power up laptop and check temps.

Worked for me! From 74 C to 52 C :D

just make sure the vacuum cleaner nozzle isn't metal. bad things can happen.

My friend's laptop was running at 104 C, I ended up taking the whole thing apart and replacing the thermal paste, and now it runs at 42 C. Your method could be an a quicker and easier way to clean your laptop without taking the whole thing apart.

well, its just in the cooler vent, so its already exposed to static electricity. and since its just the cooler, its not actually exposing any electronics I believe. 

 

 

May be wrong, never took apart a laptop

There is always air moving thru the vent , just in opposite direction. :)

This still doesn't work for my HP craptop. Temps are still at 80C.
