CPU Fan Error Water Cooler

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

So I don't need to be worried?

No. You'll be fine. If you're really worried, you can monitor your CPU temperatures using various programs(including NZXT's own CAM software).

Hi everyone,

I just built my first PC and am using the Kraken x61 cooler. The fans are not however plugged into the motherboard but rather the cooler itself and are powered by the same cord I have plugged into my HDD. Despite the fans still spinning when I first boot up the computer it says CPU Fan Error. Is this normal for water coolers or is this something I should be concerned about?

Thanks in advance

I have this issue with my x60. You have to disable the CPU fan monitoring in the BIOS.

just means the BIOS detected you don't have a fan connected to the motherboard.

You could just connect the fan cable to the CPU-FAN header.

Which fan cable? The one from the pump? Mine is connected to the CPU FAN header and it gives me that error. It's something with the pump or motherboard.

Yes, the one from the pump.  There is the pump header, and fan header. Try connecting the fan header then?

There is no fan header. All the fan connectors on the pump are female. You control the fans through the USB interface as far as I'm concerned.

I have an X31, and I am able to control the fans through my motherboard.  I don't use CAM at all because the thing is a mess and a resource hog.  I do still have the USB internally connected, but I control everything through Fan Xpert.
