Gloves? you mean wristband right? and as long as you ground yourself to discharge static charge every once in a while no.

There was a poll on this a while back on who actually used it and like almost no one actually uses them lol

Can I use the case it self to ground my self ?

Install the PSU into the case first. Plug the mains cord into a grounded outlet but do not turn it on. The case should now be grounded.

Is this forreal? :/ and umm my room is carpeted... Any suggestion how to make this work?

Buy a wrist strap then and keep yourself hooked all the time. Working on carpet is a real danger.

No it's not, just don't wear socks and don't rub your feet on it and you'll be fine.

@Biology don't worry about it, just ground yourself on your PSU/case every few minutes and don't pet your cat, roll around on your blankets, etc.

You sound really comforting lol. And well is my bed ok? I mean if I place parts on top of it but on top of their boxes? Does the bed also gives out static discharge? Do I need thermal paste?

You shouldn't need thermal paste, there's generally some preapplied to the cooler.

You can put your components on top of the boxes which are on top of the bed, but I'd recommend doing it on a large table just in case. I built my first PC sitting on my carpet in the middle of my living room without ever grounding myself, not that I'm saying I recommend that, but you shouldn't be too worried unless you live in a very hot, dry area.

Like I said, just touch your case/your plugged in PSU every couple of minutes (or before you touch sensitive components) and you should be fine.

I'm probably like the least careful person in the world and I live in a carpet floor house. I have done one or two builds and they end up fine without some straps or gloves. You should be fine, just use common sense like not rubbing or dropping your parts. EDIT: In fact I build all of my computers on the carpet floor and on my bed, it sounds like disaster but they end up fine as long as you are more careful than me.

I put my finger in my nose to ground myself. Seriously, touch the case and you are fine. Never had a issue with static and I even laid a board on a side panel by accident.
