i can't recommend water cooling loops, I have never had one that was quiet. I have a 140m cooler master something something, the thing sounds like a chainsaw and its been through two Rma's. The loop i had before the cooler master one was a corsair h60 and it sprung a leak along the edge of the block.

I'd recommend an NH-D15 (air cooler) as it beats all the AIO water coolers currently on the market, save for the 360mm's like the Deepcool Captain 360. Best cooler except for custom loop IMO if you can get past the fugly fans or are willing to buy new ones. You could always turn down the fan speed.

According to the 2nd picture on this page, however, the H90 is the quietest.

When I got my h105 the stock fans where way to loud but swapped they out for a pair of 240mm noctuas and its great now.

What I would do now is get the cheapest 240mm aio that u like and get good fans for it

This. Bought a h100i, put some Noctua fans on them and they are very quiet.

Pump noise varies between aio's. I wouldn't get just any 240mm aio if noise was a concern.

Cooler Master Nepton 240M is said to be the most quiet.  I personally have the Seidon 240M, and I can't hear the pump at all, but the fans do get loud at high RPMs.

Swiftech H240-x.

I had a H60 with a 2350rpm fan and compared it is like a jet engine to nothing.

Running the H240-x at 30% and the 2 front intake fan at 850rpm is slightly louder.

Cooling is a whole 5 degrees less than my h60 at idle and at load with the H240-x at 50% the temps are a whole 20 degrees lower than the H60.

Added pluses is that it is an open loop so customization later is possible.

Brass and copper radiator is a lot better compared to the other aluminum ones.

I had the h80i and the h105. The h105's pump was quieter than the pump on the h80i and h100i. Both coolers included fans that were really loud so I replaced them with NF-F12s in push/pull. The h105's pump still remains the loudest component in my computer while it is in idle. If you want a more silent system then I would recommend going with something like the nh-d15 air cooler or something similar.
