Nvidia surround and 144hz?

Go to solution Solved by X1XNobleX1X,

Hey guys, I just bought an ASUS VG248QE to replace my middle monitor and I was wondering if I can run it in 144hz mode with surround enabled?. The reason I ask this is because I generally game on the middle screen and use the others for Skype etc.

I'm assuming the other monitors are 60 Hz, if so I don't think you can.

Unless, you set them up as individual monitors and not in surround.

Based on this line I think you're misunderstanding what Nvidia surround is. Nvidia surround is when you span a game accross multiple screens for an ultra widescreen format experience. In this scenario unless you do some weird manipulating of your monitors you are unable to use surround, conflict resolutions and refresh rates would be the cause; you could use Nvidia surround with all monitors set to 1080p@60hz however.

For what I assume you're asking regarding Nvidia surround the answer would be yes. You can use your new monitor at 144hz and have your windows display extended accross monitors in order to use their space for otehr applications while gaming on your 144hz monitor. This process is flexible in terms of using seperate resoltions. For example I game on my 144hz monitor, use an asus 60hz monitor for applications, and have a 4k monitor at 30hz set aside for watching media while gaming (also usable for applications).
