One of the main reasons I got a Mustang is the visibility in the cockpit, that and I "needed" a racer however after seeing a video of the Avenger it seems to have a really open and clear cockpit view which has go me thinking about upgrading. With this in mind I thought I'd start a cockpit screenshot thread, below are the ships I have access to in AC but I would appreciate people with other ships adding a screenshot of them in AC. Try to take them with your head centred and decent lighting to keep them comparable, cheers!

P.S. F12 takes screenshots ;)

That cockpit view tho...

If I get SC I will get that ship simply because I could not live with the lack of visibility in the others.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Also Gladius has an awesome visibility.

That does look like a nice cockpit, I've always been fond of the Gladius style but didn't want to double up on dogfighters after getting the F7A-M, I bet that ultra wide screen makes it all the more impressive... I hope the 1440p ones will come down in price a bit next year because I'm really gaging for one... dreaming of a overclockable (or 120Hz stock) 21:9 IPS/PLS G-sync 1440p monitor but I'm probably asking for too much :(

Yeah, in terms of the style and "feeling real" Gladius is my fav ship. Especially the cockpit looks like something they've put a lot of effort in. And the way the ladder swings down and the one-piece glass canopy.... I just love this ship ;P

I myself am a fan of the Mustangs cockpit. I would post but its not much different than the omega. it has almost no blind spots

Plus the turret follows where you look, like the Comanche helicopter should of had (like the apache has?)

Should be cool with the oculus rift.

Welp I got one, not sure if it'll stay or if I'll upgrade it to a 315p... I might turn my Aurora into a 315p... its pretty nippy and the rotating seat is cool but its also very claustrophobic. You get a little less visibility down to the left an right vs. the Mustang but a little more overhead, because you sit so high in the cockpit and the nose slants down so much you can actually see more than you would expect (or at least more than I expected).

Also super useful is that it rotates all the way around so if you use your reverse camera you can shoot people following you

Nice! Wonder if the ball on my F7A-M does that, will have to try it out some time. I do remember reading they limited it at some point but that was just to make the earlier versions of AC more fair.

is it fairer now? i know the hornet i have for my constellation is like a unwieldy piece of crap. It has 2 badger repeaters 4 missiles and no other mounts. they also reduced the shields but havent done anything with the speed.

The limit on the balls firing arc was always supposed to be temporary, I don't know about the standard F7C Hornet but the F7C-M Super Hornet is real nice IMO, in the earlier versions of AC the hornet was pretty beasty because it was the F7A but I hear it got pretty nurfed when the swapped it for the F7C, I haven't had a dogfight in the F7C since v1.0 came out but I did notice a lack of pew-pew in free flight. Based on the F7C-Ms performance I'd assume even though the F7Cs are pretty simple now they will be a good base platform for upgrades. I think the current Hornets are missing a second missile rack and I did hear the nose turrets are missing due to a bug too.

Super Hornet does it.

But they really need to bring back the nose mounts to the Hornets, otherwise they would be way too weak.

But how do you aim?

By turnng your ship.

I'm not kidding, if you look back your view is locked and you aim by turning the whole ship and if you don't stop and you're not careful enough you slam into the next asteroid

Hmm, seems like a sure asteroid death to me ;) At least with the current 2 maps that we have.

This is how I usually deal with things chasing me, just make sure you have a clear run in front of you before you decouple (and make sure you're not too close to the boundary too ;)). Its particularly good in Vanduul swarm because they follow you straight and take a second or two before they veer off course once you start shooting them. Throw in a bit of corkscrew strafing for good measure and you make a hard target ;) Once I kill whatever's chasing me I recouple and hit the boost to minimise the chances of drifting into something :)

Decoupling? Pfft lightweights

I never give anyone the chance to tail me B)
