5.1 Channel speakers

I currently have 5.1 speakers set up, and in the control panel when i test them they work fine. The issue I'm having is when i play music in applications like youtube, iTunes, and google play music it only works through the front speakers and the sub woofer. I have all of the settings set to 5.1, so I'm unsure as the why its not working. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's because music in iTunes, or in YouTube is in Stereo.

You need a virtual surround application or device to put music to the other speakers. My pair of Logitech Z-5300's has this built into the amp, controlled via a "Matrix Mode" button on the volume remote.

is there any audio applications which can play 5.1 surround?

What do you mean?

Any sound file (movie, music, etc), that has a 5.1 audio track will automatically play 5.1 surround sound.

However, if your source is in Stereo (Like iTunes mp3's or YouTube music videos), then you'll need something to convert the sound into virtual surround sound.

Are you using Onboard Audio?

Realtek HD Audio should have an option in the drivers to virtualize the sound to all 6 speakers. It depends on which version of the driver you have. Open up the Realtek software and go into the speaker configuration area, and look for something called "Speaker Fill", and make sure that is checked (enabled). I can't specifically tell you where this is, because I don't have Realtek HD Audio, but see what you can find. Maybe take a few screenshots of the Realtek software to show us what options are available.
