Dumb Question: Does something go back here?

Go to solution Solved by Victor Golf,

Does it need a spliter to connect to both DVI connectors?

Nope. You just need one cable.

The other port on the card is for plugging more monitors if you want them.

Uh, is there a cable that I use to connect the GPU to the display? If so, what kind is it? I can't seem to find it anywhere in my part boxes.

You will have different ports on the back of your gpu. These may be: DVI, HDMI, Display Port, VGA. Look for a common connecter that is on both the back of the gpu and back of the monitor and use that cable.

The cable would either come with a monitor or have to be purchased separately. The connector would be HDMI, DVI, mDP, VGA or DP. Below are some examples.

If you have a graphics card in your PC the video output should be from the graphics card and not from the motherboard.

So one of the ports (HDMI/VGA/DVI) on the back of your graphics card should be going to your monitor.

System: Thinkpad T460

So this is my graphics card

And this is my monitor

What cord do I need?

And do I need to plug into both of the outputs on my GPU?
