Hi all,

I've got a bitfenix raider case, asrock z77 extreme 4 and xfx 7950 black edition. When i mount the card it doesnt sit nicely, the bit where the thumb screws go doesn't come close to lining up it's almost as if the mb is sitting too low. I can make it fit with force but i'm sure its not right.

Anyone else had any issues like this or is it normal and i'm just paranoide?

Thanks :)

The PCIe lane should line with the expansion slots. Perhaps you could take some pictures and post it? Doesn't seem normal.

Send some pics if possible.

If you are taking pictures get one showing from the back (outside). I have a case where I have to bend the metal on the card bracket to get it to go down all the way or there is about a 1/4" gap. That probably doesn't even make sense, and it took me about a year to realize what was going on, in the meantime I ended up leaving them not screwed in.

Also try to get one showing parallel to the motherboard to see if the contacts are all fitting in the PCI-E slot.

In Image 1 I have the right hand side of the card pushed as far into the slot as it will go and thats how the holes line up.

In Image 2 is a picture of the actual slot

I get what you mean about the bracket, I don' think its that because the thing thats stopping it from mounting properly is the case slot.

*Couldn't figure out the image posting technique so I just posted links, let me know if it worked :P

The motherboard looks like it's properly installed. Looks like a case issue.

Blame the case, its not your fault. The card working fine, i would use something to help it stay up like a pencil from the bottem of the case to the gpu, you dont wanna add too much stress to that pci e lane.

Its fine just push the card forward a tiny bit and it will sit in just fine. Cards will never line up 100% perfect because everything is 1mm or so off.
