I just ordered a Lenovo Y50 Touch, however I just noticed how AWFUL the TN Screen is. I was wondering if I could get a IPS screen and replace the TN with it, but still keep the touch function working.

Also is it possible to switch to a 4k screen and have it function as well?

It needs to fit the screen gap and have the right display connector. They're proprietary, so highly unlikely this is possible.

Well generally the touchscreen digitizer is built-in a screen, not an extra, removable layer on top.
So as long as the replacement screen also have touch, it will work, otherwise it won't.

To be honest, I doubt you will even be able to find an IPS replacement, much less a touchscreen IPS replacement.

I doubt you will be able to upgrade to a 4k screen, but I could be wrong. Someone on notebookreview pulled apart their Y50 and it looks like the touch digitizer is built into the display(since I didn't see room for a digitizer on a non touch model), so if you upgrade you will loose that functionality. If you still upgrade, here are some pannels that will work: AU Optronics B156HAN01.1 and B156HAN01.2, and LG LP156WF4(SP)(D1) and LP156WF4(SP)(B1). You can find more information here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/755626-y50-replacement-displays-compendium.html

Yes as long as the replacement has touch than the touch will work.

Yeah...
