wtf are "nucs"

marat569

Can you do any gaming at all on a nuc. I am not talking about like bf4 on ultra. Im just thinking casual n stuff, cause if it could, mabey its good for lan parties if you are lazy and do not want to move huge towers.

Do people buy them? I know linus mentions them for $$ (I would advertise Jenkem for $$), but who would really spend thier money on a "nuc"? Get a server blade for a server and put it in a drawer (what I do).

We have a few of them at work tucked away behind wall mounted TV's. We then use them to display status information from our data centres and Nagios alerts.

Basically powerful raspberry pi's; for monitor/display use like @Brenz it makes sense; but no main driver user. Maybe a XBMC/media driver for your living room; but a Raspberry Pi can run XBMC for 25$.

The business approach seems useful. Thanks guys!

I'm sure some light gaming like Minecraft, terraria, runescape, some wow on low, league of legends on low; something indie games -- no triple A titles; but some fun popular games why not.
