Working on a small LAN Rig for the upcoming SalukiLAN

 

 

Case: Corsair Air 240

CPU: AMD FX-6300

Motherboard: Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16gb 1600mhz

GPU: Sapphire 7970 Dual X

CPU Cooler: Corsair H55

OS Drive: 120gb Corsair Neutron SSD

Steam Library: 500gb Western Digital

 

I will have a video for this as soon as I get all the editing and such done. Only took a couple pictures.

Still WIP. Need to get new power cables, cant stand the rainbow and yellow. Need to fix the 7970 sag too, been using this card in my main rig for a while. 

 

Of course, LEDs are going to be installed.

What CPU are you using?

Omg this is driving me insane i dont know what cpu u have its not in the post and the pictures dont have it on the box lol

 

Im a bit skeptical about AM3 mATX can u tell us if u have any issues?

Whoops. I updated.

 

Using an AMD FX-6300, which I will be overclocking to the best this motherboard can handle. 

 

This build was super tight budget, as the rest of the budget went to my tower.

 

7970 is transplanted from my tower, as well as the ram.

 

The power cables for the 7970 push up against the window, Gotta give it a real push to fit.

 

The motherboard only has one system fan header, which is kind of a pain in the ass. I had a three way fan splitter, but I dont have a molex to fan adapter for the 4th fan. 

 

Painted the IO panel black, because silver is gross.

Wow only 1 fan header? I though like every mobo made since am3 came out had atleast 2 lol So no issues with the board? once u overclock can u give us the results? id be interested in seeing how well the board does.

 

Yep. I'm interested to see how it turns out too.

 

At the moment, it is not accepting my windows key. So I gotta deal with that.

Soo the corsair SSD is dead.  Installed windows and all the drivers and such and it would take several minutes to open any window. 

Swapped it for another SSD and its running fine now.

 

Started overclocking. Hit 4ghz. Mobo doesnt seem to like the RAM going anywhere over 1333 which is disappointing.

Not really. Its a 760g motherboard. That chipset is probably older than the op. Still no 900 series matx boards.

Indeed, could not find any decent mATX AMD boards. I do not buy Intel products though.

 

Motherboard was crazy cheap though, so no complaints so far.
