So. I finally installed my new Asus Strix GTX 970. And I decided to test it out by play Far Cry 4 for the first time.

I've been running it with the included Asus GPU monitor software, and I just wanted to check some things and see if they were acceptable.

My settings are at ultra, 1080p, with Vsync on.

GPU usage: 67% (impressive I think. I'm running the secondary monitor off my old gt520 P.O.S. card)

GPU Temp: average 63C

GPU fan duty,%: 33? (not sure what this is)

GPU fan speed: max: 1022.0, average seems to be about 763 right now.

So far all seems well. As I write this, Far Cry 4 is still running on my primary monitor, it appears in windowed mode when I alt tab out to move my mouse over to this monitor. It isn't paused, and there is a nice looking fire on screen as well as a good backdrop of the himalaya's.

So do my temps, fan speeds, and gpu usage all seem normal? What is fan duty%? I must say, despite being Ubisuck, Far Cry 4 looks pretty damned good other than some flickering, and the fur looking....odd, sort of blurry, but still really realistic in a way.

Seem about right.

Strix is basically the new all black DCU II as far as I can tell.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Yes everything is normal.

Fan duty% is what % of max speed your fans are running at.

Good to know. So far I am very impressed. Not only with the performance, but the build quality, packaging, etc. Overall, totally worth it. My rig also seems to be somewhat quieter now without that GTX 660 running at full blast just to handle 1080p, or at least that's what it always felt/sounded like.

Only complaint, no side LED's. Gonna have to come up with a way to fix that lol

I have a DCU II and I felt the same. The packaging was amazing with great attention to detail.

Its not called DCUII because it is a completely redesigned cooler...it has almost nothing in common other than the fact that it still contacts directly with copper.

It has a redesigned shroud, larger heatsink, better fans, quieter fans, black anodized metals, 100% silent fan modes, lower temperatures, less noise, etc...

Its VERY different from the original DCUII cooler.
