MSI Lightning 290x

I ordered an MSI Lightning 290x today and I'm a bit worried about whether my PSU will be able to power it correctly or not.

 

I currently have a Corsair TX550 and the MSI website states that they recommend a 750w power supply, but it only uses up 250w.

 

The rest of my PC specs are:

i5 3570k @ 3.8Ghz (wc/Corsair H75)

Seagate HDD 500GB

8GB Kingston HyperX memory

5 fans

 

The PC has been fine with a reference 290 in it for over a year, but I'm wondering if the bump up in power usage will cause any issues.

It's fine. Unless you will be overclocking it really hard ( Beast water cooling/ LN2 cooling / Phase Change )

The lightning is balls to the wall so I would avoid OCing with that PSU.

It will handle it, though I would get a 750W PSU if possible

You guys are really fast here, thanks a ton.

 

I won't be OCing it for a good while, next year I'll get a higher wattage PSU so I can max it out along with my CPU.

I posted about my trashed 290 and asked which card to go for out of the 970 and 290, I don't think I asked about wattage though.

And here i am still can't make myself forget the embarrassing memory of my live sometimes i think having good memory is a curse so i envy you
