well i got unlucky with my overclocking

hey linus community i have recently overclocked my cpu and gpu. i have found that i have not got the greatest chips for overclocking.

my 5820k goes to 4.5ghz and pretty stable so i knocked it back to 4.4ghs and my gtx 980 will not budge from 1500mhz.

well i shouldnt be complaning an overclock is an overclock so i am getting better perfromance

the only thing is i dont understand how im 78th on 3d mark skydiver with 1 gpu. my name is zach-5873 on the leaderboard. score

thanks

You're crazy... Those are definitely above average results for both.

The real place to brag about your OCs are on the Cinebench and Valley part of the forum.

Dude, I want to get to 4.5Ghz when I overclock my CPU in a while.

Aren't the chips (including the 5820K) given to Linus (and many other well known reviewers) cherry-picked? I was always under this assumption so I just look at many reviewer's graphs and data with a grain of salt. Unless the reviewers bought retail version of the chips (or whatever else).

CPU: 5820K GPU: Gigabyte G1 970 RAM: 16 GB Crucial Ballistix Mobo: EVGA m-ATX Cooler: Corsair H100i Case: Xigmatek Aquila PSU: NZXT 700W Monitors: 2 x Wasabi Mango (1440p)

Do you play Go/Baduk/Weiqi? I am AGA 4D.
