People say RAM is RAM these days, so I assume most somewhat known brands are good to go right? Like G skill, corsair, but also mushkin, Kingston etc. Am I right in making this assumption?

Second. Is there noticeable difference between ram speeds? Say you go from 1333 to 1600 or higher..... I googled once but it said the difference is not noticeable, not even a percent

yea shifting from a slow RAM to higher speed RAM only net 1 fps difference which is not even 1% increase

RAM is RAM, all though brands mentioned are quite good. Just depends who really has the better warranty/Customer service. (Corsair has really great CS)

Secondly, sometimes RAM speeds can help boot FPS, such as BF4 where from DDR3-1600 - DDR3 2400 there was about a 20 FPS jump in performance on average, for 1920x1200, and a 9 FPS jump for 5760X1200.

As well, as having a APU, RAM speeds will help it.

Hmm okay so the high 2K+ ram is only for the extremely extreme enthusiasts and people who have money to blow?

For intel systems

1600MHz is more than enough

AMD APUs which has the iGPU part need to use system RAM for VRAM so the APU need fast 2400MHz RAM

I will only say those who buy Corsair Dominator Platinums are the rich ones

Yes, it's a nice monitor. I wish I would have gone with a monitor with slimmer bezels, but it's still great.

Not all RAM is the same, but they are all similar. Some of them are optimized for overclocking, some for looks and performance enthusiasts and some just to get you up and running. In gaming, you will not see any performance difference when using higher speed RAM unless you use CPUs with built in graphics such as AMD APUs which will perform better in games and other video things with higher speed RAM. The only time higher speed RAM has an advantage is when doing video editing and benchmarks.
