System specs in signature. The layout of the Xigmatek Aquila case is similar to that of Bitfenix Prodigy's (m-ITX version, not m-ATX or "M")

This is my first PC build.

So, my GPU seems to be slanting forward, since the spacing between the DVI-D and the leftside of the PCIe slot is greater than that of DVI-I's.

I still can fit my DVI cable into the DVI-I port and use my monitor, but this isn't supposed to be like this, right? Since the motherboard is mounted horizontally and not vertically, like in most cases, there shouldn't be any "GPU sag" or anything. Should I be concerned and have anyone else also experience this? >.<

looks like the GPU cannot be screwed in

it only secured by a plate

Wow, after using this forum for a couple of months, I'm still surprised by how fast you guys reply

Like what dragoon20005 said, there are no place to screw in the GPU; it's secured by the top plate, which holds in all four PCIe slots.

Oh, I also took the GPU out and placed it back in, still slanted :/

i personally would attribute it to the placing of the PCI-E knockouts on that case first, and then peg the motherboard's PCI-E slot placement. the card should typically fit fine but it seems to be getting 'pushed' by the metal from the case.

if you have another PCI-E card anywhere, try that, does it do the same thing?

hmm, but how does a case "push" the GPU? There is no metal bits pushing it, unless the PCIe slots themselves are like 0.5~1mm offset

Yeah I always install my card by holding it in the place I want it to be exactly, then while holding it screw in the screws. I guess this could be considered easier said than done if you don't have thumbscrews. Usually this gets my card exactly where I want it and it never moves.

The G1 gaming is a large and heavy card though, isn't it?

There are no screws to be screwed (that sounds dirty...). Yeah, the G1 970 is large and heavy, but the motherboard is mounted horizontally, so gravity shouldn't be the cause of the tilt.

the dvi port is making contact with the case closer to the pci-e slot, making me think the mobo/slot is slightly misaligned or the case's cutout for expansion cards is misplaced.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I had messaged a fellow Xigmatek Aquila owner and he said that he too is also experiencing the ever so slight tilt and said that:

"The reason is that the fan and heat sink are putting pressure on the board which is being retaliated by the backplate, causing the tilt"

Um, you have no screws to hold the card in? I'm officially lost here.

The screw holes are under the plate....you can screw it in....But it tilts cuz of the heft of the heatsink and fans....The motherboard is horizontally positioned, and the PCI-E connector isn't a sufficient base....I checked my card and now it's no longer tilted....Just tighten the plate more if you can't screw it in....

Here, got before and after pics for you..

See how the plate holding the GPU is tilted before and not after... That's what you want... Tighten it more if you can

OH, you meant those screw holes. I thought you guys were talking about screw holes attaching the GPU to the mobo, and I was like "uhhhhhh, no, there aren't any screw holes there, I don't know what you guys are talking about."

Yeah, the PCIe plate was covering the GPU screw holes to the case, so I forgot about those lol

@monstarmadness

hmmm I'll try that. Did you screw in the screw holes underneath the PCIe plate cover?

EDIT: Nope, still ever so slightly tilted. I had already screwed it in pretty tight in the first image

I'm just a bit worried of the long term effect on the PCIe slot on the mobo due to that tilt >.<

Yeah...i did it like ten minutes ago haha....I forgot to do that too earlier on....
