I've been thinking lately about the groups that @ixi_your_face mentioned in the thread about the org. He said:

"The basic idea is that there will be groups, such as mining group or a piracy group, those would have an elected representative"

 

SO my question(s):

 

Who decides what groups we have? What if I want to start a group, can I do that?

well ixi, blade, and luke are the high council, so they would have approve disapprove powers. However, it's still a bit early, and they are super busy guys normaly.

 

It's super early to be assigning groups and letting them form. We'll wait until atleast the open PU beta before we even start to properly think about this stuff in detal

I should think the council will have the "power" to form groups however I doubt ixi will say you HAVE to play with these people and separate you and your friends.

Groups will probably have guide lines and rules dedicated to a specific role and group maybe formed in a military operation.

Just wait until fleet RPers get their hands on a position like that. I know there are plenty who exist but they just don't speak up. That could turn out great cause they'll get super into their position.... Either as a benevolent council or as a total asshat dictator.

I'm sure it won't be like "Divergent" (which is a cool movie btw :)). I can see us to be a group with common interests and different specialties who work to reach a shared goal (?).

I got a question, since there's will be fps mode, is there any chance you will make some division like specialized in fps division and pilot division? when they add the fps module I start think about starshiptroopers, where they will be a pilot who will secure the airspace and deliver the infantry and etc.. just silly question  :)

Shame divergent doesn't get good until the end

By groups you mean sub-orgs with particular tasks and focus like Military, Mining-Salvage, Exploring and so on?

Yes it might be early to think on those, but I really hope we will have some more clear ideas sooner.
Most of the orgs have this already set up, and having it might make le Star Citizens of Ltt more active, who knows.

I think Inca has a great point here. At the moment LTT suffers from lack of activity. Setting up initial chain of command and sub-orgs/groups will give the folks sense of belonging. We're a big org and it'll take time to accelerate it to full speed. I say we start now ;)

There's a lot going on in the background, I mean I've be working on the league for about 2 months (not solidly) and have throw 90% of it out the window and going to have to throw out another 5%.

There is another UOLTT based project (unofficial) I'm working on and I'm a month behind the deadline.

Bearing in mind I'm not a member of staff and don't have to deal invites and applications (thank god). Hell @rucdoc deserves a god damn pat on the back for doing the membership list.

Now I love you all guys but get off your arse!
