Best small amp + speakers?

So my stereo just reciently died (or at least i think it's dead) and i don't feel like bothering with it anymore so my crappy logitech speakers just don't do it anymore. I want a pair of bookshelf speakers and a small amp for my desk but i can't find one I like.

Get active bookshelf monitors instead, so much easier to deal with and not to mention a lot more bang for your buck than running speakers and an amplifier. :)

Uh no. The Lepai 2020A+ amp makes passive bookshelves an amazing deal especially in the US. 

My personal rig - 4790k 4.8Ghz, Asus Z97 Pro (wi-fi ac), Corsair Dominator Plat 4x8GB, SLI GTX 1080 TI FE, Samsung 850 Evo 1TB, Crucial MX100 512GB, EVGA G3 1000W, and cooled by a hardline liquid cooling loop.

I was looking at that amp and a pair of dayton bookshelf speakers for like 80 something on amazon but I'm not sure yet.

There was a bad batch of those but I don't know if that has been fixed. I like the Pioneer Speakers for around $80.

Micca MB42 + lepai amp is another option, been looking at getting a pair for myself for xmas.
