Apple (OSX) vs The Rest (Windows)

Guest

I'm confused as to what you are comparing?

The build quality is not the same and the specs are not the same.

I agree that sometimes apple is not as overpriced as it seems but I don't get what this really proves, the quoted machines are not a fair comparison. If we are comparing an aluminum notebook to a plastic one compare it to something like an msi force, alienware m15x, or a Sager np8250. You can save a couple hundred from a computer with the same specs and 1080p screen. You just won't be getting the aluminum frame and retina display. Once the 3k msi laptop comes to market we can compare screen resolution also.

MSI, Sager, and Alienware Don't even nearly match the rMBP/MBP's built qualily, nor the screen, keyboard, or trackpad.

Edit: they're also 2 - 4 times as thick

I did note that the GPU's though not the same were of similar performance in benchmarks and did not exactly justify the price delta. I also couldn't find any of those laptops available here in Australia.

Ok. But I still don't think this a fair comparison. But I do understand different markets have a different selection.

Well yes but neither do a dell, lenovo, or hp.

So they aren't worth comparing to.
