That seems to be cutting it pretty close, but it might be enough.

I would upgrade the PSU before doing crossfire with that 290 (just what I would do personally).

Thank you !! Yes, I see how it would cut close and it would be pretty daring to add another R9 290, I skimped out on better power supply unfortunately.

Thank you!! It took a lot of work into it, but its not stopping you get a even better one than me!! I do wish I had never gotten then FX 9590, its just space heater and I don't use it to its full potential sadly.

im looking at an 8350. :P i know games will eventually put those cores to use in the future and that i know i'll be doing all sorts of other things with em.

also telling my friends i put an octacore cpu in my custom pc would just blow thier minds. xD (they live with thier sempy 145 and 4 gigs of ram i built for them ages ago)

haha! I know exactly how you feel! Hopefully they'll start take into use for those cores too!

to OP: Youre fine with that psu calculators usually overestimate a bit to motivate you to buy a bigger=pricier PSU ;)

octacore in games? thats quite a way to go considering the fact theat quad cores are becoming standard at the time being. BUT if the next generation of consoles switch to octas we may see octacore-support on a regular basis ;)

ill stick with my i7 for quite a while.

8350 woud be baller though considering e-peen...... :D

current gen consoles are 12 cores. x'D mind you its an APU but its still more than 8 cores. x'D

dual cores just dont cut it anymore sadly. quad cores are enough for now, a 6 core is nice if you're a streamer/recorder.

and 8 cores i just say is good headroom and good for the future. also loads of multi tasking.x'D

If you know how to set up your rig dual core cpus do just fine in games pre 2013, and in quite a few released since then, though I haven't made a final judgement on that because my rig still hasn't gone past 4GHz stable for any long period of time.

Lol, and with a quad core 1 year newer it will be good for another 6-7 years.
