well it depends...for rendering 2 hours long 4K porn videos...not so good...for modern AAA gaming and streaming and light video rendering it's a beast

as aniallation said the xeon E3-1231V3 is pretty much the same CPU without the integrated graphics and can usualy be found at a better price.

Yeah. It's the top of the line for Intel's mainstream line.

Though, one thing to look at is this.

4790k - Unlocked, able to overclock.

4790 - Non-k means that you can't overclock it.

I would personally try and get a "K" version as that will allow you to overclock, even if you didn't want to do it straight away.

for 1440P gaming or 4K...yes absolutely.

For 1080p get as single one of these it will max out most games at above 120FPS.

Is he trowing two GTX980's on top of the CPU? i need friends like that...
