Hi guys, my neighbour heard that I'm gonna build a pc for myself and he came and asked me to build a gaming PC for him between 350-400$ .. He wants to upgrade his old tower. He got all the peripherials only wants to upgrade mobo, cpu, ram, gpu, psu, case. I'm about http://pcpartpicker.com/p/17qEJ

it can handle bf3 on ultra I think cuz he got 20" monitor. That's enough. Any suggestions please reply or better parts :)

Finishing up my build...

Don't get an athlon 651k. You will be limiting yourself in upgradibilty and performance. Get a phenom 965. at 1600x900 an hd 7770 should be able to play bf3 on ultra but if I where you i would save 40 dollars and get an hd 7850 1gb. Much better performance and you get 3 free games aswell .

Changing CPU means changing mobo too. Prices for both are a lil more plus 7850. I'm on budget 350-400$ and I'm building for my neighbour he won't do any upgrades I'm sure.

Finishing up my build...

get this mobo : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131795

And get the phenom : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

It is a bit more expensive but worth the money. You get much better cpu performance and upgradibility for the fx series.

20'' but what resolution ? He won't be playing BF3 on Ultra with that lol. Unless he got a low res monitor, in that case I don't call it Ultra anymore...

A few changes for much better performance: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/17rPl

Note: ram in dual channel can be up to 50% better than ram in single channel.

If your parents don't game, you should toss the gpu and throw in an ssd.

Where is the proof?

I couldn't find the specific MEMORY benchmarks but I found one for integrated graphics: http://www.itsjustwhatever.com/2012/07/17/why-you-want-dual-channel-memory-for-your-hd4000-integrated-graphics/

To elaborate, you can have up to a 50-60% performance increase in memory benchmarks. In more realistic scenarios with dedicated graphics, you can see up to a 1-5% increase.

With integrated graphics, the performance is more reliant on dual channel.

It's hard to average the overall performance of ram for different usage scenarios so we use benchmarks--specifically memory benchmarks.

The increase is not like a solid 50% but "up to" (maybe more) 50%.

Forgot to say, recomended psu for 7770 is 500w but I've seen lotsa reviews that cx430 would handle it perfectly, what you guys think? will there be any issue even if its on full load?

You can easily run a 7870 off of a cx430. My uncle's 7850 runs off of the cx430.

The 7770 uses very little power. The cx430 is plenty if not overkill.

That's awesome.

If my parents gamed, I'd have an excuse to fill the house with gaming rigs. It would be awesome for LAN parties.
