Hello forum-goers!

I'm hunting for a motherboard with some specific features.

-

Four (or more) DDR2 slots.

2 IDE slots.

6 SATA ports.

Intel CPU preferred, but AMD is acceptable.

-

I'm looking for this configuration because I've got more spare parts from customers computers than I know what to do with.
They just keep giving me stuff.
So I want to make use of what I'm given.
As much of it as possible.
Because why the hell not?

The majority of the RAM sticks are DDR1, but I've got a small stash of DDR2.
HDDs are about 50/50 IDE and SATA.
Same as CD/DVD drives.

Any tips are appreciated!

Thanks!

That's not super important.

I've got a stack of CPUs here, if I don't have one that fits, I'm ok with buying whatever it needs.

Well my mind goes a bit blank. With the IDE stuff i can tell you that Asrock still do ide sockets, even two on one mobo. Dunno why but check them out.

Rgr that, thanks.

The closest thing I've found is this:

http://abit.ws/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php@DEFTITLE=Y&fMTYPE=Socket%20AM2&pMODEL_NAME=KN9%20SLI

The Abit KN9 Sli. Very close but I can't find one anywhere online.

The one I did have, I destroyed about 2 hours ago... I realised about 30 seconds after I broke it that it didn't have the 4pin connected and that was why it wasn't booting.

(I have to break components to stop myself from hoarding parts I think I might be able to fix, otherwise I end up with stacks of components I'll never use.)

DDR2 mostly.

It has no real point other than existing to use up spare parts.

Well, I suppose it will also be used as a component testbench sort of thing so I don't have to plug shoddy components into one of my good computers.

And possibly a teamspeak server.

EDIT: Actually, i just realised the KN8 might work instead.

Only has 4 SATA ports but it has the 2 IDE. And there seems to be a lot more available.

EDIT Aagain: KN8 only uses DDR1, not ideal.

P5Q looks pretty much spot on for what I need.

I can always throw in a PCI - IDE adapter if I need more IDE slots.

Thanks!
