Hello community!

I just got to move my computer from a crappy case to my new Phanteks Enthoo Primo! (finally)

I have a question(i don`t understand it from the manual.. that`s why I`m asking :( )

The PWM hub has 6 fan headers with the possibility to split 5 into 2 more, and it has a 4-pin connector and a Sata 12V Power input.

My questions is.. how do I power the fans?(I will install watercooling in it next week, when all the parts arrive)

Do I put the Sata 12V Power input and connect the 4-pin to a motherboard connector?(I`m afraid if I put both, it will make a short or something) Or just connect the 4-pin to a motherboard connector?(I still have a air cpu cooler in)

Now I have it only in a sata connector and the fans don`t work.

Thank you

Alex

The PWM HUB consists of 6 3-pin fan headers, one 4-pin that says that it goes to the Motherboard CPU_Fan, and one SATA 12V POWER INPUT.

My question is, is there a problem if I connect both the Sata(to the hub) and the 4-pin to the motherboard?

The 4 pin is probably a dummy header for the CPU fan header so the MOBO thinks there is a fan. And SATA to power the hub.

Update on the situation:

I did connect the SATA cable and the 4-pin to the motherboard but the fans don`t spin.. at all! Just the CPU fan.

When I connected the PWM hub to the CPU fan it did not start giving the error "CPU FAN ERROR , press F1 to setup"

Can anyone help? Theoreticaly I don`t have any ventilation in my case, although for now it does not have the side panels on...

Could it just be that the PWM HUB is broken?

Ok so let me get this straight. You powered the hub with the SATA. You plugged the 4 pin header that is from the hub to the CPU fan header on the motherboard and you plugged your case fans and rad/cpu cooler fans to the hub and 0 fans spins, correct?

Yep, that is correct! And it gives me the fan problem. (CPU  fan error)

Ok, something just weird happened.

I thought it may be the SATA cable.. and I connected it to one HDD and tried to boot it, but I pressed the button and it fire up for less then a second and it shut down, i tried again, same thing... got really really scared then I put the original HDD sata in and took out the 4-pin header from the mobo and it started again.. is that cable broken?

Haven`t been that scared in a long time.... (this is a work computer)

Take care,

Alex

Update to the situation.

I disconected the HUB and connected another one that I had laying arround on a random MB 4-pin slot with 3 vents in it, and they work!(this one does not have a SATA power input)

So is the thing broken? What should I do? Try it in the slot that the other one works?

By the way, I left one vent in it(in the Phantex PWM hub) and started the computer, with the 4-pin in the CPU Fan Opt and the Sata power connected and it started but it made some noise like it struggled to stay on.. what do you think could be the problem? A bad piece?

Thank you,

alex

I`m just gonna take it out and test in in another computer, cuz it`s pretty weird.. what I can still test is put the 4-pin in another MB slot.. the CPU ones might be faulty?

This weekend I might be able to test out this stuff. And if it works, I might do the watercooling on my system, first time!(wish me luck)
