Does this support Sli?

Go to solution Solved by 79wjd,

I Just wanted to know what would happen if i installed 2 970 and if they would work.

970 SLI wouldn't work as SLI requires x8x8.

That board is 3.0x16 and 2.0x4.

Usually if it does there'll be a SLI logo on the PCB. I see an AMD CFX near the southbridge but no SLI... and as it's a cheaper board I'll say no.

I don't think so. Gigabyte does not mention it under the multi-gpu  category.

id assume it does, the reason it probs doesn't have SLI certification is you need to pay Nvidia for it. vs AMD that certify them for free.

Are you sure? is there any proof because i don't want to get 2 video cards and install them only to find out SLI isn't supported :(

Read it, if it doesn't support SLI then it's obvious what would happen. You would have two cards that act as separate units, common sense should tell you that.

Not necessarily, as has been mentioned, you have to pay to get Nvidia to verify SLI works; but if a board is x8x8, then SLI should work regardless of certification (although I don't remember the last time I saw a board that had x8x8 from Asus/MSI/Gigabyte/Asrock that wasn't certified).
