Alright, so I went on a holiday for a week or so and after I came back I found that chrome and internet explorer are not actually opening up (internet connection is fine). What happens is, after opening the browser it shows up for an instant and closes (google chrome) and internet explorer opens but doesn't respond and crashes. However, Firefox (what I'm using to write this) seems to still work for some unknown reason.

Notes

- Have also tried using opera to no success

- All other exe.'s work

- chrome doesn't even show up in task manager

- internet works fine

EDIT: Trying a system restore

use ccleaner to delete all cache and cookies for those two browsers, or you can try a reinstall too.

Have you scanned your system? I have seen this on systems with some malware.

I doubt it's malware because the browsers were working fine before I went on holiday
